I’m a fiction writer and educator from the American West.
I was born in Southern Utah, among epic landscapes and complex histories that continue to shape my life and work. I hold an MS Ed from Bank Street College of Education and spent seven years as a classroom teacher — developing project-based curriculum and excessive enthusiasm for fractions — before earning an MFA in Fiction from Johns Hopkins University.
These days, I live in Oakland, CA with my big, gay family and am hard at work on a short story collection about the American Sublime. You can find my fiction in Gulf Coast, New Ohio Review and The Masters Review.
